Val Speidel is a dedicated teacher who encourages each student to reach for their full potential through the practice of yoga. She has travelled several times to India to study with the Iyengar family at the Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Institute in Pune, India, most recently in Dec 2007. Her initial teacher-training /certification was completed under the guidance of Gioia Irwin and Ingelise Nherlan; she currenty continues to study with Ingelise Nherlan and other Senior–level Iyengar yoga teachers. Her teaching is informed by life-experience, as both a (forner) Registered Nurse and, for many years, as a graphic designer of books. Val is regional representative (mainland British Columbia) of the Iyengar Yoga Association of Canada (IYAC).
