Val Speidel is a dedicated teacher who encourages students to reach for their full potential through the practice of yoga. She has travelled several times to India to study directly with the Iyengar family at the Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Institute in Pune, most recently in December 2007, and will be returning for further study in February 2011. Her initial teacher apprenticeship/certification was completed under the guidance of Gioia Irwin and Ingelise Nherlan in 2004; she currently studies with Ingelise Nherlan and other national and international Senior-level Iyengar yoga teachers. Val teaches classes daily at Yoga West 3rd Avenue, a small, private studio in the Kitsilano/Point Grey area of Vancouver, and at Kitsilano Community Centre.
