Lynne began taking yoga in 1997 at the recommendation of her naturopath and has not looked back. Her classes began in the basement of Margaret Lunam's home in Kelowna where she first discovered the gift of Iyengar Yoga. In 2000, Lynne joined the board of the Kelowna Yoga House at its inception and devoted much of her time to its growth and development. In 2001 she began teacher training with Ingelise Nherlan and in 2002 began teaching several classes a week at the Kelowna Yoga House and The Boys and Girls Club in Winfield. Lynne owned and operated her own studio A Place for Yoga from 2005 to 2009. In December 2009 she purchased a beautiful new space in Lake Country to move her studio into and has changed the name to A Place For Yoga and Health. The space is twice the size as her former location and allows others to rent the space to offer their health services to the local community. She is now serving on the board of the Iyengar Yoga Association of Canada. Lynne continues to upgrade her qualifications by studying with Shirley Daventry-French and Ann Kilbertus as well as attending several workshops each year with other Senior Iyengar teachers. Lynne has travelled three times to Pune to study with the Iyengars, and will be returning to India for further study in June 2010.
